Our History

2008

Founding of SilverFit

SilverFit was founded in 2008 by Joris Wiersinga and Maaike Dekkers-Duijts with the aim of improving the lives of elderly people using innovative technology. The idea was to let people enjoy exercising, for example during rehabilitation, by using computer games.

2009

The first system

The first system, the SilverFit with 3D camera, entered the market in the Netherlands and Belgium in 2009. As early as October 2009, SilverFit also entered the wider European market.

Active outside Europe

The Asian market followed in 2010 and in 2011, with a US partner, it entered the US market.

SilverFit wins SME Innovation Award

In 2014, SilverFit won the SME Innovation Prize with the SilverFit Rephagia system.

Finalist National Care Innovation Prize

The National Care Innovation Award is an annual prize that awards innovative solutions in the care sector, aimed at improving the quality of care and clients' lives. SilverFit reached the top three finalists with its innovative commitment to healthcare technology.
